Why I’m a Democrat
(And what I wish it really meant)
We think it was important that we went to the moon.
We think there are things more important than a balance sheet.
We believe that opportunity can only be built on a platform of justice.
We believe justice is a virtue, a good and honorable thing, not a matter of checking off boxes and filling jail cells.
We think America doesn’t simply deserve to lead the world because it has in the past. That leadership is a trust, a sacred honor, one each generation must prove itself worthy of, and that is something this generation must yet prove.
We believe we are a nation that is willing to strive, to excel, if only we are given the chance.
We want to give you that chance, knowing that it is hard. Knowing it will take effort, but also knowing in our hearts that it is a challenge America can rise to.
We do not ask for your vote. If you do not think the world can be better, we are not the place to spend it. Instead, we challenge you for your vote.
Dems 2010. Because America can do better.
